FUTA VC seeks alumni’s assistance

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, has appealed to the alumni of the institution to assist it to attain greater academic heights.
Daramola made the appeal while inaugurating a building presented to the school by the FUTA Alumni Association.

The VC, who urged the alumni to continue to support the school, said they played an important role in the transformation of any university.
He said, “The great universities like Havard and Cambridge could not have been what they are today if their alumni had turned their back after graduating without giving back to the institutions that helped their lives.
“These two institutions generate billions of dollars annually from the contribution made by their alumni and I believe we are capable of achieving this same feat at FUTA.
“It is for this reason I charge you to hold firmly, the cord that binds the university and the alumni together.”
The association Chairman, Mr. Akin Aina, in his remarks, solicited the assistance of well-meaning Nigerian to help it to complete the N30m project.
The Emir of Lafia in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Isa Mustafa, also appealed to Nigerians to come to the aid of the association in meeting its various financial challenges.
