The FUTA Director, International Office, Prof. Afolabi Akindahunsi, who spoke at a reception for the students, said the departure of the students, signified the quality of the university’s international collaborations.
According to him, two alumni of the university are already at FAMU for their master and doctoral programmes while five more students will join them in January 2016.
He said, “In view of the current trend in the academia to reach out globally, FUTA is doing well in collaborating with world, class universities. The programme between FUTA and FAMU is termed 4-1-1 and the aim is for final year students to complete their first degree at FAMU with the credit transferred to FUTA for them to earn a FUTA degree after a year at FAMU and thereafter proceed to do their postgraduate studies in FAMU, he said.
The FUTA Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, who described the departing students as global citizens, urged them to continue to excel in their studies.
