In a bid to help small and medium
sized businesses (SMBs) across Africa and the world reach their
customers and achieve their goals, Facebook Inc. has updated Facebook Pages,
a public profile created specifically for businesses, brands,
celebrities and so on to share stories, connect with customers and much
more.
The update brings new features to Facebook Pages such as new and prominent call-to-action buttons – bigger, brighter and directly under the Page cover photo, which makes it easier for businesses to achieve their goals, and also include call-to-action buttons such as “Call Now”, “Send Message” and “Contact Us” which makes it easier for customers to connect directly.
Also, the update improves the Page Layout, making it for users to navigate through Pages especially through mobile phones and tablets.
A very important feature the update brings is the new sections for Pages. At the moment, this feature comes with two new sections: Shop section, which helps retail businesses bring their products to the forefront of their Pages, and Services section, which enables professional business services showcase a list of their services at the top of their Page.
As new statistics shows that 63% of people on Facebook in Kenya are connected to an SMB, 54% of people in Nigeria are connected to an SMB and 61% of people in South Africa are connected to an SMB, Facebook Inc. is aiming to leverage on this, through the improved Facebook Pages, to further expand its reach, grow its business and help SMBs in Africa connect with potential customers and reach their goals.
Facebook Pages also provides SMBs with tools such as insights, notifications, messages, reviews and so on to help monitor and manage their businesses better.
SMBs can get on Facebook Pages from a PC, a Mac or through mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
